Emergency Dental

Emergency Dental

If you need emergency dental care, make an appointment with one of our Dentists on Call at (289) 521-2555 any time. Time is of the essence in a dental emergency, so the sooner you call, the more likely we can save your teeth or avoid costly treatments. Don't waste your time wondering if you have a dental emergency. The rule of thumb is, if you think you are having a dental emergency, you are!

The Most Common Dental Emergencies

Of all the dental emergencies we've seen over the years at City Square Dental, the most common ones are as follows:

  • Pain - Pain in the teeth that doesn't go away. The pain could be as a result of a cavity or something unknown. Oral pain is one of the worst kinds of pain you can experience. It can prevent you from sleeping and greatly detract from your quality of life.
  • Swelling - Swelling in the gums, tongue, or any part of the mouth is a sign that you have a dental emergency that needs urgent attention.
  • Bleeding- Unexplained bleeding in the teeth and gums could be symptomatic of a serious problem that needs to be addressed right away.
  • Difficulty Breathing or Swallowing- Especially as it relates to pain or swelling. These types of emergencies need instant care, and patients should go to the ER first.
  • Trauma- If for any reason a tooth gets knocked out, this is a dental emergency. If there is a chance to salvage the loose tooth, the problem needs to be addressed right away.

What Should I Do if I am Experiencing a Dental Emergency

If you are experiencing difficulty breathing or swallowing, you should visit the emergency room before you call an emergency dentist, as these symptoms could be potentially life-threatening.

If you have experienced trauma that has caused you to lose a tooth, it's a race against the clock if we are going to have a chance to salvage the tooth. It is important that you contact us right away. Place the tooth in milk and bring it with you so that we can put the tooth back in. If milk is not available, put the tooth under your tongue.

How Does Our Emergency Dental Service Work?

City Square Dental offers 24-hour emergency dental services. We always have an emergency dentist on duty. We accept new patients who have dental emergencies but can't reach their primary dentist. We perform emergency dentistry on people of all ages. If you are not sure if you have a dental emergency, it's always best to air on the side of caution. Better to get treatment than to wait until the problem gets worse, potentially making a broken or damaged tooth or other oral problem unfixable!

Schedule an Appointment with City Square Dental

Because we are one of the few local dental clinics that offer 24-hour emergency dental services, we are often the only choice for people who experience dental emergencies. However, challenges can arise when accepting new patients on an emergency basis.

If you are already one of our patients, then we'll know your medical and dental history when you arrive for emergency dental treatment. This means that we'll be able to provide faster and better service, which is crucial because when it comes to dental emergencies, time is of the essence.
